the-tick-pilot-2Now that Amazon owns Twitch, we’re sure many are wondering what the company has planned for the game streaming platform. For the most part it seems that Amazon has left Twitch to their own devices, which is great for gamers and users of the platform, but now it looks like Amazon has plans to leverage their acquisition.

According to a report from Deadline Hollywood, Amazon will now start to stream its TV pilots on Twitch. Note that the streaming is only for the TV pilot itself, not the entire series, so for now Netflix does not have to worry about Twitch becoming a possible competitor. Also the pilots will only be streamed for 24 hours, so basically the idea is to give users a taste and decide if they want to watch the show in full.

There will be three pilots that will begin streaming on the 31st of August, one of which includes The Tick. We’re not sure what Amazon’s goal is here, as in whether they want Twitch’s audience to determine whether or not a show is good, or if the goal is to entice them into wanting to watch the shows, but either way with Twitch now starting to expand beyond just gaming, we suppose streaming TV shows isn’t really that much of a stretch.
