Bill Nye a.k.a the Science Guy is getting a new TV show but this time he’s going to be on Netflix. You’ll know who he is if you’ve ever browsed reddit and Imgur or if you’re interested in following science news online. Netflix has given him a new talk show which is called Bill Nye Saves the World. The show is going to be premiered on the online video streaming service in spring next year.
Since he’s the Science Guy, the show is obviously going to be about science. Nye is going to discuss different scientific topics in the show and will also use the platform to bust popular myths as well as false claims made by politicians and other leaders.
This is the first time that Nye has been given another show ever since his children’s show on PBS called Bill Nye the Science Guy ended back in 1998. It’s been a long time since he’s done a TV show but it felt like this was bound to happen given his resurfacing as something of a science celebrity in recent years.
“Since the start of the Science Guy show, I’ve been on a mission to change the world by getting people everywhere excited about the fundamental ideas in science,” Bill Nye said in a statement, adding that “with the right science and good writing, we’ll do our best to enlighten and entertain our audience. And, perhaps we’ll change the world a little.”
