There are all kinds of people in this world. Some are pretty gracious in defeat, while others are pretty huge sore losers, coming up with all kinds of excuses in a bid to try and diminish the other person’s win. In Overwatch (and presumably other online games), players have been typing “gg ez” at the end of matches.

In fact you’re unfamiliar with the lingo, it’s basically short for “good game, easy”, meaning that it was an easy win, which is like the other person telling you that you weren’t even a challenge to begin with. Whether or not that’s true is a different story, but basically it’s not very nice, and Blizzard has decided to try and curb such expressions.

In the PTR for Overwatch, Blizzard has tweaked what “gg ez” means. Whenever a player types it and sends it, it will automatically convert itself to another sentence such as, “I feel very, very small… please hold me…”, or “It’s past my bedtime. Please don’t tell my mommy,” or “I’m wrestling with some insecurity issues in my life but thank you for playing with me,” or “I’m trying to be a nicer person. It’s hard, but I’m trying, guys.”

Will this curb the griefing/trolling in the game? We suppose that’s one phrase that has been taken care of, but human beings are imaginative creatures and we’re sure that someone will find something just as bad (or worse) in the near future.
