lucioballWith the recently released Summer Games for Overwatch, Blizzard introduced a new game mode called Lucioball in which players could only use the Lucio character, although some players have found a glitch that allowed other characters to be used in the game which we have to say is pretty hilarious.

Unfortunately it seems that Blizzard themselves aren’t too tickled by this glitch and in a post on the Overwatch forums (via Kotaku), the game’s director Jeff Kaplan has since issued a warning to players who are looking to take advantage of this exploit. From what he has said, it certainly sounds like action (such as bans) could be taken against players found to be exploiting the glitch.

According to Kaplan, “Apologies for this bug. We’ve attempted to fix it numerous times and have had unrelated issues preventing the fix. We hope to have a fix this week. In the meantime, we are in discussions with our Customer Support group to start taking action against those deliberately using the bug to play heroes other than Lucio. Please do not exploit this bug. Fair warning.”

Exploiting glitches is obviously frowned upon, but it seems that there are many players who argue that this isn’t a big deal as it’s supposed to be a fun mode. However Blizzard has been taking a rather serious stance against cheaters and in Overwatch’s first week, the company had swiftly banned more than 1,000 accounts for cheating.
