hasselblad moto modWhen Motorola announced their new Moto Z handsets, they also announced modular accessories that customers can buy to augment the phone called Moto Mods. There are several Moto Mods which have since been launched, ranging from extra speakers, a projector mod, a power pack mod and so on.

However it seems that Motorola could be working with Hasselblad on a Moto Mod as well. This is according to a post by hellomotoHK (via Dpreview) where as you can see in the photo above, it shows a camera module for the handset with Hasselblad’s logo stamped at the lower right corner of the accessory.

From what we can tell, the module will offer users 10x optical zoom, Xenon flash, a physical shutter button, a zoom button, RAW photo format capture, as well as the ability to share photos and back them up automatically. We’re not sure how involved Hasselblad is with this mod, or if it is even real, but it could be something that photography enthusiasts might be able to appreciate.

For all we know Hasselblad could have just consulted on the creation and licensed out their name for use. In any case there has yet to be an official announcement so we’ll just have to wait and see what Motorola and Hasselblad have in store for us.
