htc nexusWe have been hearing a lot about Google’s upcoming Nexus handsets that are allegedly made by HTC. In fact the launcher that is supposed to be an exclusive to this year’s Nexus handsets has already made its way online, so the only question is when will Google/HTC make the official announcement for the phones?

The Nexus 6 from 2014 was launched in October, while last year’s Nexus 6P was launched towards the end of September. Based on this we can only assume a late September/early October launch for this year’s phones, and a report from Droid-Life seemingly confirms that theory as they have heard from a source that the phones will be launched on the 4th of October.

It is a very specific date but like we said, given the past two Nexus launches have been around the time, it isn’t really that much of a stretch to think that the 4th of October is a possibility. Of course you should take it with a grain of salt, but considering the number of leaks we’ve been seeing lately, if anything it does seem to hint that we are getting close to an official announcement.

Assuming the 4th of October date is accurate, Google should start sending out the invites to the press conference in September, so do check back with us in the coming weeks/months for more information.
