public-toilet-sign
The headline of this post might not make sense to you because you might think that this can’t possibly happen, but it can happen and it has happened. A man in Norway volunteered to retrieve his friend’s phone that fell into a public toilet. Whether or not he was able to retrieve the phone became irrelevant when it became apparent that the man actually got stuck and could not come out of the toilet without help from rescue crews.

Cato Berntsen Larsen, aged 20, is an amateur diver and he is svelte. When his friend’s phone fell down a public toilet he volunteered to get it out for him. It didn’t go according to plan.

It wasn’t one of those public toilets that have a u-bend connected to the sewage system. The public toilet had a tank underneath the seat. Larsen was able to get in but he wasn’t able to get out.

“It was disgusting as hell,” he predictably told VG News, adding that it was “The worst thing I have ever experienced. Animals were down there too. I will never enter a toilet again. Now my body hurts.” Nevermind the fact that the public toilet is emptied only once a year.

Larsen was stuck in the toilet for an hour and says that he was up to his thighs in feces. He also vomited. Firefighters had to be called and they helped him out of there by cutting open the toilet. The only lesson we can take from this is that jumping into public toilets is never a good idea.
