galaxy-note-7-design_27-frontThe Samsung Galaxy Note 7 was just launched and it comes with the latest build of Android Marshmallow installed. However with Android 7.0’s release nearing, the question is, when will the Galaxy Note 7 be updated to Nougaty goodness? By the end of the year? Next year? Never?

The good news for Galaxy Note 7 owners is that Samsung is planning to make the release of the Android 7.0 update in a timely manner. According to Samsung Mobile President Koh Dong-jin, he estimates that the Galaxy Note 7 should be able to expect the Android 7.0 update in the next 2-3 months.

Assuming Samsung is able to keep to schedule, this means that October will be the earliest we will receive the update, but chances are we are looking at November. According to Koh, “It is very important for us to offer up-to-date information with the new OS, but what’s more crucial is to build a stable and seamless platform for users. That’s why we are planning to do enough beta testing before any OS updates.”

That being said if you absolutely must have Android 7.0, we guess a Nexus would be your best bet. Alternatively LG had also recently confirmed that the LG V20 will be launched with Android 7.0 in tow, so there’s a good chance that the V20 could beat the Note 7 to the punch, but either way it’s still a good thing.
