These days rapid charging features are more or less standard with smartphones. Sure, bigger and longer-lasting batteries would be ideal, but in the meantime we suppose we wouldn’t mind batteries that could recharge faster. That being said, not all rapid chargers are created equal as we find out in a video uploaded by OnePlus.

In the video above, the OnePlus 3 and Samsung Galaxy S7 are pitted against each other in an attempt to find out which phone’s rapid charging feature is the fastest, and it looks like the OnePlus 3 managed to walk away with the crown. In the test, the OnePlus 3’s Dash Charge feature managed to bring the phone up to 67% battery, while the Galaxy S7 was at 50%.

However the second part of the test gets interesting. Now obviously having your screen off means less energy is consumed, which in theory should make the charging faster. However OnePlus’ Dash Charge feature seems to be able to disregard the display and in the second part of the test, still managed to bring the phone up to 67% in 30 minutes, while the Galaxy S7 managed 23% with the screen on.

Now this is just a test meaning that your mileage might vary depending on a number of factors, but from what we can tell if you’re just after pure speed, the OnePlus 3 could be worth your consideration.
