Patch 7.0 is essentially the Legion expansion for World of Warcraft, but it seems that Blizzard already knows what they want for the next patch. Announced during Gamescom, Blizzard took the wraps off Patch 7.1 which they have titled, “Return to Karazhan”, which as the name implies will see the developers bring the Karazhan zone back to the forefront.

In case you’re unfamiliar, Karazhan was a raid zone back in the Burning Crusade days. It is one of the game’s more iconic raids given how central it is to the Warcraft universe, and how it used to house Medivh. However according to Blizzard, Karazhan in Legion will be an epic 5 man dungeon that will house 9 bosses.

According to Blizzard, this is based on feedback that players missed dungeons like Blackrock Depths that could take hours to complete, almost like a raid. The original Karazhan is expected to remain as a raid, so players can always run through it again if they want. In addition to Karazhan, patch 7.1 will also introduce new quests for Suramar and world content.

As to when it will be released, Blizzard says that it will be arriving on the PTR after the launch of Legion, but when exactly remains to be seen. In the meantime you can check out the trailer for the patch in the video above.
