It appears that Samsung is gearing up to launch a new portable speaker called Samsung Scoop. The portable speaker has been spotted in documents the company has filed with the FCC. The timing of this discovery is interesting as well given that Samsung will be present at IFA to unveil new products one of which is going to be its new Gear S3 smartwatch. It’s quite likely that this new portable speaker may be unveiled at IFA 2016 as well.

AusDroid discovered these FCC documents which reveal the Samsung Scoop Bluetooth portable speaker. The documents even include actual pictures of the device itself enabling us to see Samsung Scoop in all its glory.

Samsung Scoop is about 10 centimeters in diameter so it’s certainly very portable. It features a strap as well which suggests that it can be slipped over a user’s wrist and be carried in that manner.

It will connect to a mobile device using Bluetooth to play music. The document mentions that users will be able to change tracks using the speaker itself without having to take out their smartphone.

Samsung hasn’t confirmed the existence of the Scoop at this point in time but the pictures do confirm that it has created a portable Bluetooth speaker. Whether or not it will be unveiled at IFA 2016 is an entirely different matter. There’s no information available right now regarding the pricing and availability of this speaker.
