Pokemon GO can be seen as a rather disruptive app, quite literally as we have seen people walk around bumping into others, or nearly getting into accidents because they just couldn’t look up from their phones. This has led to some places banning people from playing the game on its premises.

However at the same time, it has also opened up opportunities for some places to help drum up a bit of business. This is exactly what the Colonie Center in Albany, New York has done in which they have decided to take advantage of the fact that their shopping mall is a PokeGym. They have painted the floor of its lobby into a huge Pokeball, and have also made it a designated area in which players can gather to battle.

They have also hung posters depicting the various teams that players can be a part of. Of course you could always opt to sit in a Starbucks and battle it out while sipping on an iced coffee, but we guess if you’re hoping to make some new friends and some new teammates, heading to the lobby would be a great way to do that.

Given how popular the game is, we wouldn’t be surprised if more places started to follow suit. In fact we’ve already seen Sprint take advantage of the craze by offering up charging stations and lures at their stores to get people to come in.
