titanfall_2_3Yesterday we reported that Respawn Entertainment confirmed that Titanfall 2 would be having a beta, but they did not mention when exactly it would be kicking off, so the question is, when will it begin? The good news is that it could very well be kicking off this coming weekend. This is according to a tweet by the studio’s CEO Vince Zampella.

According to Zampella, “I’d say keep the next two weekends free,” which sounds like the beta is expected to run for at least two weekends. Now in case you missed our previous post, Respawn stated that the beta would only be available to gamers on the PS4 and Xbox One, and that PC gamers would have to sit this one out.

Why is this? Apparently PC gamers and the community are known for data-mining, which is the process of digging through the game’s files to uncover little bits of information about the game, upcoming content, and etc. that the developers aren’t quite ready to announce yet. Just recently the data-mining of No Man’s Sky seemed to suggest that the game could very well arrive on the Xbox One, despite Hello Games not confirming anything yet.

In any case we’ll keep our eyes and ears peeled on how gamers can take part in the beta, so do check back with us in the coming days for more updates. In the meantime, Titanfall 2 has been set for a release this coming October.
