uber-dial
The app is an integral part of the Uber experience. You fire it up, punch in where you want to go, and see how long it’s going to take for your driver to arrive. It enables you to track the driver and also manage payment via the app itself. Uber is adapting to the Indian market and it has now enabled users in the country to hail a ride without using the app. They can even pay for the ride without having to use a mobile wallet or credit card.

In supported cities like Jodhpur, Kochi, and Nagpur all users have to do in order to hail an Uber ride without using the app is visit dial.uber.com via a web browser. There they can either sign in using an existing account or sign up with their phone number and easily book a ride.

Users who book a ride using the website will then receive a call from their driver to coordinate the pickup location. They can then pay for the ride in cash once they have reached their destination.

This method will enable Uber to cater to more customers in a market as complex as India where a variety of factors might prevent people from using the app to book a ride. It may also make it easier for people to just try out the service without adding another app to their phone or having to provide their credit card information.
