There has been quite a bit of speculation about a PlayStation 4 Slim. We saw some leaked pictures of this console just yesterday and amid reports that Sony might launch two new consoles at its event next month, a video has appeared online showing the PlayStation 4 Slim booting up. The video also offers a good look at the console itself and shows that it boots up just like any other PlayStation 4 would, adding an air of legitimacy to claims of a thinner and lighter PlayStation 4.

This certainly wouldn’t be the first time that Sony has launched a thinner and lighter version of its flagship gaming console. Microsoft has already come out with the Xbox One S which sheds off the excess bulk and comes with a few minor changes.

Folks from Eurogamer visited the person who had purchased this unreleased PlayStation 4 Slim from a Gumtree listing. They recorded a video which shows the console booting up this ensuring that it’s a real, working gaming console.

This just validates claims that Sony will launch two updated consoles at its event next month. One is simply going to be a thinner and lighter PlayStation 4 which could be what we see in this video while the other will be the much-rumored 4K compatible version of the PlayStation 4 which will also receive power upgrades.

Sony has not yet responded to this video and it’s unlikely to, given that its official event to talk about PlayStation isn’t that far off.
