Many people would like to receive discounts on Apple products which tend to be pricey but the company rarely offers them so they have to look elsewhere. Aetna is making the news today for saying that it’s going to offer some of its customers discounts on the Apple Watch. This is the first such deal of its kind that Apple has made with a health insurer for its wearable devices.
As part of its deal with Apple, Aetna is going to give the Apple Watch for free to its almost 50,000 employees. The health insurer has nearly 23 million members in the United States so it’s a major player in its own right.
Apple is working hard to improve its wearable device’s health and fitness credentials so teaming up with a health insurer will enable the company to target users who are very conscious about their health and fitness.
Aetna will provide eligible customers with a significant portion of the price and allow them to pay off the remaining amount via easy monthly payment options. It can’t be said for sure how much discount each Aetna customer is going to get because the company has said that the discount on the Apple Watch is going to vary by customer.
