amazon-storeThink of Amazon and you might think of the company’s various online services as a retailer. Not only did they sell items online, but they seemed to revel in their digital nature through offerings like the Kindle e-readers and e-books. However that started to change last year when they launched their first physical bookstore.

Last we heard, Amazon had plans for more bookstores, but that’s not all. The company has recently announced plans to launch pop-up stores that will be located in various malls across the US. So far there are more than 20 of these pop-up stores that Amazon has launched, but apparently they’re not stopping there as the company has plans to eventually bring these stores to around 100 in 2017.

However these pop-up stores won’t be about selling books. Instead these stores are meant to advertise and sell the company’s hardware products, such as Kindle e-readers, Fire tablets, the Fire TV, the Amazon Echo, Dash buttons, and more. There will be staff on hand to help advise customers on what to get, and there will also be products demonstrated so that customers will be able to get some hands-on time with them.

It’s an interesting initiative and one that we have to wonder will work out for them. In any case if you do like the idea of trying out Amazon’s products before buying, then keep an eye out for a pop-up store that might be near you.
