Fingerprint scanners that authenticate users when logging into their PC? It’s been done before and for the most part, we have to say that it isn’t exactly a very popular feature. However if you’re looking for some security options, you might be interested to learn that BIO-Key has unveiled a trio of fingerprint scanners designed for Windows 10 computers.

The first model is the EcoID which is aimed more at desktop users. It comes with a short USB cord that lets users tether it to their computer and they can unlock their Windows 10 PC whenever they want. Operation is simple as all users have to do is place their finger on top of it and they’re good to go.

The other two are designed more for laptops in the form of the SideSwipe and the SideTouch. Granted you could technically use them for desktops, but given how small they are, it isn’t so convenient. The SideSwipe is the smaller of the two and according to Geek, it is apparently roughly the same size as your fingertip, so if you want to protect your PC on the go, this is one way to go about it.

The sensors are relatively affordable as well starting at $39.99. They have also been certified to work with Microsoft’s Windows Hello feature, so if you want protection on the cheap, these sensors could be worth your consideration.
