iphone-7-official
Seeking to take advantage of the increasing e-commerce market in India, Apple has decided to officially team up with one of the company’s largest online retailers to sell the iPhone 7 online. Customers in India will be able to buy iPhone 7 online from Flipkart. The partnership has been inked ahead of the handset’s local launch on October 7th.

Flipkart has previously been selling iPhones as well as other Apple products but it was sourcing them from third-party retailers in the country. This allowed the online retailer to offer discounts on these products. It was often seen that the iPhone 6s price on Flipkart was lower than Apple’s official price for India.

This is the first time that Flipkart is going to be selling the iPhone officially under an agreement with Apple. It would also mean that no steep discounts would be offered on the iPhone 7 as inventory will be taken directly from Apple. That’s not all. Flipkart will also begin selling other Apple products directly, products like iPads and Macs.

Other online retailers in India that source Apple products from third-party retailers might try and steal customers by offering steep discounts but Flipkart is likely going to benefit from improved supply and marketing even if it loses out customers on price. Other than that, it gets the added advantage of being an official reseller of Apple products.
