Samsung-Gear-360-Camera-09_900Virtual reality is believed to be the future, offering users up a more immersive experience when watching movies, video clips on YouTube, looking at photos, playing games, exploring the world, and so on. We’ve seen many companies such as Samsung, HTC, Sony, and Facebook invest heavily into the tech.

That being said, it sounds like Samsung’s investments will be continuing. According to a report from SamMobile, they have learnt that Samsung might have a new 360-degree camera in the works called the Gear 360 Pro. If the name sounds familiar, it is because earlier this year, Samsung launched the Gear 360 alongside the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge.

In case you’re unfamiliar, the Gear 360 is a 360-degree camera meaning that it can capture footage all around, thus making it easier for users to capture photos and videos that are pretty much ready for use in virtual reality. Features of the Gear 360 Pro and how it might be more “pro” than the regular Gear 360 are unclear.

However we suppose we can speculate that it will most likely bring about improvements in both the image and video quality. As for its release, it has been suggested that it might launch in 2017 alongside the Galaxy S8, and that we might also be seeing iOS support launch around that time too.
