gran-turismo-sportA report from last week confirmed that Gran Turismo Sport would be delayed. The game was originally pegged for a release by the end of this year, but it has since been pushed to 2017. No word on when exactly in 2017 we can expect the game, but apparently the delay must have been bad enough where Sony is now cancelling pre-orders for it.

According to a report from GT Planet, it seems that gamers are reporting that their digital pre-orders for the game are being cancelled. The message that gamers are being told is that only when the developer has finalized a new release date for the game will pre-orders reopen again.

The message reads, “Thank you for pre-ordering Gran Turismo Sport from PlayStation®Store. On 30th August 2016 we regrettably announced that the release of Gran Turismo Sport has been delayed until 2017. We do not have a new release date at this time. We have, therefore, decided to cancel your pre-order and refund your pre-order payment. This refund may take up to 7-10 days to be processed. Please keep a record of this message for future reference.”

“Once we have a new release date for Gran Turismo Sport we will offer a revised pre-order for it on the PlayStation®Store at the earliest opportunity. Thank you for your custom and please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused.” However like we said, we do not know when GT Sport will be released in 2017, so until then gamers will just have to keep their eyes peeled.
