jurassic-worldSometimes when it comes to reviving older movie franchises, sometimes it doesn’t go as well as intended. A good example would be when George Lucas attempted to revive the Star Wars franchise with the prequels – Episodes I, II, and III. However Jurassic World, which was an attempt at reviving the Jurassic Park franchise, proved to be a success.

We know that there is a sequel in the works, and the good news for fans is that if you wanted more, you’ve got it. According to a report from LRM Online, it has been confirmed by the sequel’s director Juan Antonio Bayona that Jurassic World is set to be a trilogy, although at this point it is unclear who will be helming the third film.

According to Bayona, “The whole ‘Jurassic World’ is a trilogy that Colin Trevorrow has envisioned. We’re writing the second chapter, and it’s very interesting where he’s leading the story. I grew up watching Steven Spielberg movies and I love those movies and the legacy, so it’s a question of being truthful to the legacy and at the same time, bringing new stuff that people will appreciate. We are still six months ahead of shooting, and so far, so good. It’s very exciting right now.”

That being said, Jurassic World 2 (or whatever it will be called upon its release) is set for a release come 22nd of June, 2018, meaning that we’ve got a little under 2 years to go, but in the meantime how do you guys feel about Jurassic World being a trilogy?
