xbox-one-hands-on-review-02If we had to point at one reason as to why the Sony PS4 was leading the Xbox One at the start was because of price. Sure, there were probably other reasons, but one of the main differences in both consoles was price, with the PS4 being priced lower. You would think that Microsoft would have learnt their lesson, but it doesn’t seem to be the case.

In an interview with Eurogamer, Microsoft’s Albert Penello couldn’t seem to confirm if the upcoming Project Scorpio console would be priced similarly to the PS4 Pro, which basically took over the current PS4’s price of $399. When asked, “Sure, but the expectation is PS4 Pro will be cheaper than Scorpio, right?” Penello simply said, “It will be an interesting discussion next time we chat!”

Eurogamer suggested to Penello that Project Scorpio should in theory be more expensive than the PS4 Pro due to its bigger processor, more RAM, and maybe even a 4K Blu-ray drive, but like we said, Penello is keeping mum on price for now. Granted it is possible that Project Scorpio could end up being priced the same as the PS4 Pro, but if it were Penello would have come right out and say it, right?

Or maybe it could be even cheaper than the PS4 Pro which is why Penello is keeping silent on that matter for now, although we’re guessing that’s probably not going to be the case. Either way it’s just speculation for now, but what do you guys think? If Project Scorpio were to be more expensive than the PS4 Pro, would you still go for it assuming that it would be technically superior?
