The general elections are coming up in the United States and people who have yet to register to vote are continuously being reminded to use their right to help make a choice about their country’s future. Whoever wins will be in the White House for four years so there’s a lot of responsibility on the voters as well which is why it’s imperative that people go out and exercise their right to vote. Twitter has launched a new feature which makes it very easy to register to vote.

Twitter has launched this feature to celebrate National Voter Registration Day. The idea is to make it easier than ever for U.S. citizens to register to vote in the upcoming presidential election.

US citizens can now send a Direct Message to the official @Gov account on Twitter with their five-digit ZIP code to receive an automated response that includes their state’s voter registration deadline as well as a personalized link to register.

Closer to Election Day, Twitter will make this interaction more useful as part of its partnership with Pew’s Voting Information Project and Google’s Information Civic API. @Gov will then be able to answer additional questions like “where’s my local polling station.”

It certainly doesn’t get easier than that. Don’t forget to register to vote if you haven’t already.
