You can now give someone the gift of Uber. The company has launched gift cards which can easily be used to pay for rides. Uber has launched physical gift cards that are going to be sold in more than 35,000 retail locations across the United States. Users should expect to see these cards at retailers like Target, Walmart, and CVS in the coming weeks. Gift cards will soon be available for purchase via uber.com/gift-cards as well.

These gift cards can easily be redeemed within the Uber app and they never expire, so it’s not like the recipient is any rush to take a ride to ensure that their ride credit does not expire.

Uber’s physical gift cards come in $25 and $50 denominations. Those who purchase them online can choose values up to $200. All balance will carry over across all rides until it’s not fully expended. There are no additional fees associated with these cards, users will get exactly the same value in their accounts as what’s mentioned on the card itself.

Uber has currently launched these physical gift cards in the United States only. It’s also working on another card program geared towards businesses who will be able to provide their employees with ride credit for Uber as an additional employment perk.
