whatsapp-drawingWhatsApp for the most part has been a rather straightforward messaging app. This is versus apps like LINE or Snapchat which tend to offer up slightly more “fun” and social features, but the good news for WhatsApp users is that this could be changing in the near future, thanks to recent features that were spotted in the latest Android beta.

According to the folks at Android Police, they have discovered some new features within the beta that should make WhatsApp a bit more fun to use. One of those features is the ability to draw on images, meaning that instead of just sending images the way they look, you could edit them further by drawing on them, adding your own captions, speech bubbles, hearts, or whatever you can think of.

There is also the introduction of stickers which we should clarify aren’t similar to the stickers on LINE, KakaoTalk, or Facebook Messenger. Instead these are stickers that you can add onto your photos to enhance them in case drawing them out isn’t quite getting the job done. It is unclear if these stickers are fixed or if you can buy more in the future.

No word on when these changes will be arriving on the main build of WhatsApp, but given that it is currently in the beta we guess it shouldn’t be too long before it is available to everyone else.
