Many of us discover upcoming movies on Facebook, whether it be a sponsored post or a trailer that one of our friends shared. If we become interested in that movie the next thing we probably do is open up a new tab and see when and where we can buy tickets. Soon, Facebook might eliminate the need to go through this entire step as it’s teaming up with Fandango to sell movie tickets right on a movie’s Facebook page.

Facebook has teamed up with Fandango to make this happen, this integration has already gone live in the Uited States with a handful of titles including Kevin Hart: What Now?, The Magnificent Seven, and Storks.

Fandango will be prominently featured on the movie’s page as a large blue button titled “Buy tickets” will appear at the top of the screen. Tapping the button on mobile will bring up a list of nearby theaters and showtimes. Customers will be able to go through the entire checkout process without even having to leave the Facebook app. Clicking on the button via desktop will just redirect users to Fandango’s website.

The social network is likely going to monitor the response to this feature before it decides whether or not this integration with Fandango is going to be rolled out widely.
