macbook-airAt Apple’s event yesterday, the company announced new MacBook Pros. They also announced a 13-inch non-Touch Bar version of the MacBook Pro which is in some ways a spiritual successor to the 13-inch MacBook Air which only received a minor upgrade in terms of RAM, but nothing else.

While Apple acknowledged that the MacBook Air is one of their more popular notebooks, it seems that it looks like the company could be letting it die a slow death because without any fanfare, the company has stopped selling the 11-inch MacBook Air on its website. If you were to head on over to Apple’s website, the only MacBook Air being offered is the 13-inch model.

Now we won’t say that the laptop has been discontinued because it seems that third-party retailers such as Amazon have the 11-inch MacBook Air for sale. You could also probably find some units left at physical retail outlets, although we’re just guessing so don’t take our word for it.

Prior to this, there were rumors dating back in July that the 11-inch MacBook Air could be killed off. It was predicted by famed Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo who has since been proven right. It is possible that Apple might want its 12-inch MacBook to replace the 11-inch MacBook Air, and to be honest, we wouldn’t be surprised if the non-Touch Bar 13-inch MacBook Pro were to replace the 13-inch MacBook Air in the future as well.
