Adidas may be giving up on GPS running watches but it doesn’t seem to be exiting the wearable device market completely. According to a new report, Adidas is working on a new lifestyle tracking wearable device called Chameleon which will be coupled with a new health and activity tracking app called All Day. Both the wearable device and the app are said to arrive next year.

Wareable has heard from a source that Adidas is currently working on Chameleon and All Day, it’s said to be looking at a 2017 release. While it’s possible that Chameleon is going to be the official moniker of its new product, it’s not known for sure right now because it’s possible that Chameleon may only be a codename.

There’s no information about the features and specifications of this Adidas wearable device at this point in time and it’s also unclear what sort of functionality the companion app is going to provide. What many would be most interested in finding out is whether Chameleon features a heart rate sensor, integrated GPS, and additional sports-focused features. None of that is known for sure right now.

It’s also unclear precisely when this new wearable device and its companion app is going to be released next year, we don’t know right now how much Adidas is going to charge for it. Hopefully we’ll hear more about Chameleon and the All Day app in the coming weeks and months.
