The Pixel smartphones were Google’s worst kept secret and the internet search giant finally unveiled its “Made by Google” smartphones yesterday. These handsets are independent of the Nexus program and Google has already said that it has no plans to launch any more Nexus handsets. It remains to be seen how customers receive this handset once it hits the market and if you’re someone who is interested in picking one up, you’ll certainly want to check out Best Buy’s great deal.

The new Pixel smartphones from Google are premium handsets and they have been priced to reflect that. The 32GB Pixel starts at $649 and the price goes up to as much as $869.99 for the 128GB Pixel XL.

Even though the handsets work on all four major carriers, Google has made the Pixels exclusive to Verizon for now. Those who purchase a Pixel or Pixel XL from Best Buy and activate it on Verizon will receive some great incentives.

The incentives for activating a Pixel smartphone on Verizon purchased through Best Buy include a free second-generation Chromecast dongle as well as a $100 gift card which can be put towards the purchase of anything available at Best Buy.

It’s a $135 value combined but bear in mind that customers won’t get the free Google Daydream View VR headset that they will receive if they purchase the Pixel directly from Verizon or the Google Store. That’s a pre-order incentive that they are offering directly to customers, Google’s first proper VR headset costs $79 and will go on sale next month.
