pixel-whiteFor quite a while now, it has been rumored that Google’s new phones will be called the Pixel and the Pixel XL. This rebranding will see Google move away from the Nexus branding that we have come to know over the years. However this has only been a rumor, at least until recently where Canadian carrier Bell seemingly confirms it.

As spotted by Steve Hemmerstoffer (via Android Central), it looks like Bell accidentally published a promotional post on its website for the upcoming phone. Not only have they confirmed that the handset would be called the Pixel, but they have also uploaded a rendering of the handset in a white finish, which you can see for yourself in the image above.

The tagline reads, “Introducing Pixel™, Phone by Google. Order yours today.” There is no mention of the Pixel XL, so maybe when they say “Pixel”, they’re referring to the brand in general and not the handset in particular, like how sometimes the name “iPhone 7” is used to refer to both the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus at the same time.

In any case Google is expected to make the handset official this coming Tuesday which is the 4th of October. So if you want to learn more about the phone, such as its official specs and features, do check back with us then for the details.
