As far as mobile games are concerned, Candy Crush is still raking in the dough, although admittedly it isn’t quite as popular as it used to be. However it seems that there are some who believe in the game’s potential, such as CBS who have recently announced that they are planning to turn the mobile game into a game show.Yes, you heard that right, soon you will be able to watch Candy Crush live on TV! Unfortunately the details of the game show are scarce at this point in time, so it is unclear as to how the game will be translated from its digital form into a presumably more physical form on TV. However CBS did reveal that it will be a two-player game in which contestants will compete on “enormous, interactive game boards featuring next generation technology.”
We suppose we have to admit as to how they might pull it off, and whether or not it will be somewhat faithful to the original game, or if the game show might be more Candy Crush in name than in gameplay. That being said, we shouldn’t be surprised considering that games such as Angry Birds, Minecraft, and even Tetris have been made (or are in the process of being made) into movies, so why not a game show, right?
There is no word on when the game show will premiere, but are any of you guys interested in seeing what this could result in?
