galaxy-s7-design_03The rumors of the Galaxy S8 are starting to ramp up. Given that Samsung has more or less killed the Note 7, this means that as far as Samsung’s next flagship is concerned, all eyes are on the Galaxy S8. Recently there have been new rumors out of China which pretty much “confirms” what we have heard so far.

According to the latest rumors posted on Weibo, it has been revealed that the Galaxy S8 will be packing a 5.5-inch 4K display and that it will come with 6GB of RAM. In terms of RAM, 6GB has been done before so we guess it wouldn’t be a stretch to think that Samsung could be following suit. As for the display, 4K is a bit of a leap from QHD, but rumors claim that Samsung plans to use the Galaxy S8 for VR purposes, so obviously a display with a higher resolution will go a long way.

This isn’t the first time we have heard of the Galaxy S8 sporting a 4K display, so it stands to believe that if there is smoke, there is fire, but we advise you approach it with skepticism all the same. Other rumored features of the phone we’ve heard so far include the removal of the home button, the use of the Snapdragon 830 from Qualcomm, and Samsung could also be following in the footsteps of some OEMs by ditching the headphone jack.

In any case take it with a grain of salt, but apparently Samsung is eyeing an early launch for the phone and last we heard, Note 7 customers in Korea are eligible for 50% off the handset.
