pixel-camera-appBack in the day, cameras on phones were simple and straightforward. Press the button and a photo would be taken. These days, cameras on smartphones have gotten a lot more complex and if you are after more control over your photos, it would seem that the upcoming Pixel phones from Google could give you what you need.

In a leaked promotional image for the upcoming phones (see above), it shows the Pixel phone with the camera app running and what appears to be manual controls in the app. As it stands the current version of the Android camera app does not look like that nor does it have those features.

It has been rumored that the Pixel phones could get certain exclusive features, such as its own launcher. We’re not sure if the manual controls are also an exclusive feature to the Pixel phones, or if they are being added to Android 7.1 Nougat which is the version of Android the Pixel phones are rumored to be launched with.

Either way Google is expected to unveil it all in full come 4th of October, which is tomorrow, so be sure to check back with us then for all the official details.
