Apple will celebrate the iPhone’s 10th anniversary next year so it’s widely believed that the company is going to go all out on the iPhone 8. A new report out of Japan claims that the iPhone 8 is going to be offered in three different sizes and that all models will feature glass backs. The report mentions that Apple’s position on glass backs is “tentative” right now which means that it might go back to using metal casings like it does on existing handsets if the glass backs don’t make sense.

According to the report, the iPhone 8 will be available in 4.7, 5, and 5.5 inch sizes and all of them might feature glass backs. Previous rumors have also suggested that Apple might go for glass on both sides of the device next year. A metal frame will be sandwiched between the glass panels.

The two smaller models of the iPhone 8 are reportedly going to stick with the LTPS display technology used in existing iPhones whereas the 5.5 inch model is said to feature a curved OLED display must like the one you get with the Galaxy S7 edge. Rumors suggest that it’s actually going to source those displays from Samsung.

It’s still too soon to be sure of what the next-generation iPhone is going to bring to the table as we’re almost a full year away from when it’s due. Apple has obviously said nothing about the iPhone 8 as yet to it’s best to take these rumors and reports with a grain of salt for now until there’s more conclusive evidence to support these theories.
