Microsoft today announced the next major update for its flagship operating system. Called Windows 10 Creator’s Update, it’s slated to release in spring 2017. The company kicked things off by unveiling a new 3D version of Paint which enables users to scan objects from the real world and work on them inside Paint. The update comes with additional features all of which are designed to get people to embrace their inner creator.

One of the features that Microsoft showed off on stage today was the new Capture 3D tool which enables users to capture real world objects in full 3D and then convert and save them in a format that can be 3D printed easily.

Microsoft has also baked in a new feature that gamers will certainly appreciate. Users will be able to broadcast their Xbox games by simply pressing the Windows button followed by “G” to start broadcasting. Xbox Live will automatically notify all of their friends that they have started streaming.

The company has been working to make apps more social in Windows 10. The sharing charm in Windows will now point to the user’s closest connections first which will make it easier and faster to share items with people they care about the most.

Windows 10 Creator’s Update is going to be publicly released in spring next year but members of the Windows Insider program will be able to get their hands on the beta builds starting next week.
