mophie-magnetic-iphoneIt was believed that modular phones could be the future. However following the suspension of Google’s Project Ara and the fact that the LG Friends and Moto Mod modular accessories haven’t exactly lived up to the hype, maybe we aren’t quite ready to embrace the modular smartphone yet. However that certainly hasn’t stopped Mophie from trying.

The accessory manufacturer has recently launched their latest accessory for the iPhone 7 in the form of the Hold Force case. This is a case designed for the iPhone 7 that comes with a magnetic plates in the back. The idea is that users will be able to buy additional Mophie accessories that they can just snap onto the case, thus creating some kind of modular system.

Some of the compatible accessories include The Wallet, which basically adds two card pockets. Then there is The Folio which is a larger version that adds a third pocket. There is also the Powerstation Plus Mini which is a 4,000mAh battery pack. We suppose the magnetic back helps the battery pack stick on the phone, thus providing a more secure hold.

Obviously these additional accessories will be sold separately. The case itself is priced at $40, with the Wallet and Folio priced at $20 each, and the Powerstation Plus Mini priced at $60. For more details, you can head on over to Mophie’s website.
