nook-tabletIt has been a while since we last saw a Barnes & Noble NOOK tablet, and it almost felt like the company was out of the tablet game. However that might not necessarily be the case because a certain NOOK Tablet 7 has been spotted at the FCC with the model number BNTV450, indicating that the company has a new device in the works.

The FCC documents has revealed quite a number of things about it, namely its design which you can see in the image above. It has also revealed that the tablet will be powered by a MediaTek MT8163 quad-core processor, a 3,000mAh battery, and will come with the usual host of connectivity options like Bluetooth, WiFi, front and rear-facing cameras, a micro USB port, a microSD card slot, and so on.

It’s not exactly the most compelling tablet we’ve seen and according to the report, it seems to have been manufactured by a Chinese company called Shenzhen Jingwah Information Technology. Prior to this we know that Samsung and Barnes & Noble had some kind of relationship, but according to Tablet Monkey, they speculate that this tablet could be the answer to Amazon’s $50 Fire Tablet, and because it is so cheap, Samsung had no interest in manufacturing it.

In any case we guess we’ll just have to wait and see what this tablet has in store for us, so do check back with us at a later date for the details.
