As fun as games are when they launch, eventually things will get a bit boring because people eventually fall into a routine and things stop becoming a challenge. This is why from time to time developers release updates with balances and changes to help shake things up, or add new features that will introduce a new dimension of gameplay.

The good news for Overwatch fans is that if you think that the game is getting a little bit dull, you’ll be pleased to learn that Blizzard’s Overwatch team is hard at work at making new maps and heroes for the game. In fact the game’s director Jeff Kaplan seems to tease that Sombra, a hero for the game, is close to being released.

“We are actively working on more heroes right now. One hero is very far along. It’s coming together really well. We’re play-testing it internally across the whole company, and we believe this hero will see the light of day sooner rather than later.” Sombra has been teased for quite a while now and if what Kaplan says is true, it won’t be too long until players can expect her.

Kaplan also teased that there will be another hero that will be released, although he notes that this hero is in the prototype stage now and will most likely see a release in 2017. He also says that the team is working on new maps which fans can look forward to in the near future. No word on when all of these updates will drop, but they do sound like they could be worth looking forward to.
