For those who are unfamiliar, Prisma is an app that got quite a bit of attention several months ago due to the unique filters and effects it could apply to photos. What made it so special was how seamless the effects were applied to the photos, meaning that the end result looks more “natural”.

Those filters were only applicable to photos back then, but the developers did promise that they would release an update later for videos and the good news is that time is now. For users who love Prisma and have been waiting for the video update, that update is finally here and is available via the iTunes App Store.

According to Prisma, “We’re excited to bring you a new way of self-expression. You can now turn your memories into moving artworks using unique video styles! Pick a file from gallery or shoot up to 15 seconds of video through the Prisma camera to add an artist’s touch to it. The processing is done locally. No Internet connection is needed.”

Yup, there is offline editing which is pretty cool as prior to this, Prisma required users to have an internet connection because the filters were processed in the cloud via an algorithm, which unfortunately rendered the app hard to use at times. In the meantime you can check out the video above for an example of a Prisma edited video.
