ramboIt’s hard to create a movie franchise in which every movie is successful, and every movie essentially becomes an iconic piece of film history. Sylvester Stallone’s Rocky and Rambo movies are examples of great movie franchises, but how well will Rambo do without Stallone’s presence following his retiring from the role?

We know that Rocky is holding its own with the release of Creed, a spin-off from the Rocky franchise, but what about Rambo? That’s something that we’re definitely looking forward to because in a report by The Hollywood Director, it has been revealed that a Rambo movie reboot is in the works and it will not be starring Stallone.

Put together by Nu Image/Millennium, it will see Brooks McLaren writing the script for the movie and Ariel Vromen who will be directing it. (Appropriately) Dubbed Rambo: New Blood At the moment it is unclear as to who will be picking up the mantle of John Rambo, but apparently the folks at Millennium are hoping to cast someone in the role of the character that is akin to James Bond.

It is still too early for plot details or a release date, but the last time we saw a Rambo movie was back in 2008, meaning that it has been a while. In the meantime are you excited to see what the new Rambo movie reboot could be bringing to the table?
