This is a movie that X-Men fans and particularly Wolverine fans have long been waiting for. It was first confirmed early last year that Hugh Jackman will be returning to play Wolverine for one last time and we only found out earlier this month what this movie is going to be called. Boy does 20th Century Fox have a treat for you today. It has finally released the new Wolverine movie’s official trailer for us all.
Wolverine 3 is actually just going to be called Logan. It’s going to be a bit different from previous movies in this franchise because it’s going to have an R rating. The movie has been described as violent and “kind of like a western in its tone.”
The official synopsis for this movie reads: “In 2024, mutant births are severely in decline, and people aren’t sure why. A government-type operation is turning mutant children into killing machines. From this, Logan emerges as a mentor to a mutant girl, who has two claws instead of his three.”
Jackman most recently came back to the big screen as Wolverine in X-Men: Apocalypse earlier this year, even though it was a cameo of sorts and not a full-fledged role. One of the reasons why Logan might draw in big crowds because it’s going to officially cap Jackman’s time as Wolverine. Many might even find it hard to imagine someone else play the character.
