chrome_homeWith phone screens being so huge these days, using it with one hand can be rather cumbersome. If you have short thumbs this might be even harder when you’re trying to reach the top part of the phone, like the address bar in the browser. The good news is that Google is working to fix that.

According to Android Police, it has been spotted in the developer version of Chrome for Android that there is a “Chrome Home” flag hidden in the app. What this does is that it actually moves the address bar from the top part of the phone to the bottom, thus making it easier to enter search or URLs.

Now it seems that this feature is still very much in the testing phase because as you can see in the screenshots above, there is a blank space where the address bar used to be. We’re not sure if Google plans on expanding the display area of the website to fill up that gap, or if they will introduce some shortcuts or other features to fill the void.

For those of you who are using Chrome Dev or Chrome Canary, it seems that you can enable this feature by typing chrome://flags/#enable-chrome-home in the address bar, tap “Enabled”, restart the browser and you’ll be good to go. If you do plan to enable it, let us know in the comments below what you think of it!
