fujifilm x100tAbout a week ago we reported that two Fujifilm cameras had been registered in China. It has been speculated that one of those cameras could be the Fujifilm X100F, the successor the X100T, one of the more premium and highly-praised compact cameras available in the market today.

Now it seems that thanks to a post in the Fujifilm X100F Facebook group (via Fuji Rumors) by member Joao Ferreira de Figueiredo, it seems that the camera could be announced in February 2017. The post reads, “The X100f will be announce [sic] in February, in the meantime ambassadors will start testing them in December.”

We can’t be sure where de Figueiredo is getting the information from or whether or not it is accurate to begin with. However we should point out that CP+ will be taking place in February 2017 and given that it is a camera/photography-centric event, it would make sense for Fujifilm to announce the camera then.

Of course you should definitely take this news with a grain of salt for now, but with the X100T having been marked as discontinued, we can only assume that its successor is in the works and will be unveiled in the near future.
