galaxy-note-7-nextto-s7-edge_05-bottomOne of the rumors about the Samsung Galaxy S8 is that it will feature a larger display of the 5.5-inch variety. This is versus the 5.1-inch display found in the Galaxy S7, and like we mentioned before, going up to 5.5-inch brings it dangerously close to Galaxy Note territory, which we’re sure Samsung would not want to encroach upon, right?

However it seems that’s exactly what Samsung wants to do. According to a report from The Investor, the latest rumors are suggesting that instead of a 5.5-inch display, the Galaxy S8 will actually be launched in two versions: one with a 5.7-inch display and another with a 6.2-inch display. The reason? Apparently they want to appeal to Galaxy Note customers.

Samsung had previously confirmed that Note 7 customers would be eligible to get 50% off the Galaxy S8 if they so chose. However there are reasons why some customers choose the Note instead of the S-series simply because of the larger series, and if Samsung wants to win them over, the larger displays should do the trick.

We have heard that the Galaxy S8 will be offered in two variants, so this rumor does seem to be pretty consistent, but given that it is still just a rumor, do take it with a grain of salt for now.
