It has only been a few days since Google started selling the Google Home through retailers, pre-orders could already be placed through the company’s online store but now the product can be purchased from a variety of retailers. Now that Google Home is out, the company is now making a few colorful bases for it available for purchase. The bases will enable owners to easily change the look of their Google Home as and when they feel like it.

There’s really no other purpose to the base other than just improving the look of this device. It doesn’t add any additional functionality to Google Home.

Google is currently offering six bases for Google Home through its online store. Three come in metal and the others in fabric. They have been designed to blend in well with their surroundings and enable owners to change the look of Google Home to suit their preferences.

The fabric bases for Google Home cost $20 and they are available in purple, orange, and teal. The metal bases cost $40 and they are available in copper, snow (white), and carbon (black finishes), they look quite similar to the base that Google Home already ships with.

The bases magnetically attack to Google’s smart speaker so it’s very easy to change them as and when you please. Google does point out that it’s selling the bases exclusively through its online store so you can’t find them anywhere else.
