We had been hearing rumors that Huawei is going to launch a “Pro” variant of the Mate 9 as well and while it has done that, it’s actually more than just a garden variety Pro version. Huawei has actually teamed up with Porsche Design on this premium version of the Mate 9 so it’s aptly calling the new device Huawei Mate 9 Porsche Design. The handset has bonkers specifications and a price to match.

Huawei Mate 9 Porsche Design features a 5.5 inch Quad HD dual edge curved display. It’s powered by the same Kirin 960 processor like the Mate 9 but is hooked up to 6GB of DDR4 RAM. It also has 256GB of onboard storage which is impressive to say the least.

Aside from the major differences such as a better display, more RAM, and storage, this is more or less the same Mate 9 since both variants have the same battery, software, fast charging, audio, and other features.

Since it’s a premium product with a big brand name attached to it, you can expect it to cost a pretty penny. The Huawei Mate 9 Porsche Design edition will only be available in the graphite black color and it has been priced at €1395, which means this handset costs $1,300. It’s unclear at this point in time whether Huawei intends to launch this variant of the Mate 9 in the United States.
