We picked up on a report yesterday which claimed that Huawei is also working on a bezel-less smartphone like the one Xiaomi showed off a while back. Other manufacturers like Samsung are also believed to be making smartphones with similar displays so it makes all the sense in the world for Huawei to throw its hat in the ring. The latest whispers out of China suggest that Huawei is going to launch its bezel-less smartphone on December 16th.
It’s actually claimed that Huawei is going to source the display panel for this device from Samsung. The display panel on this device is rumored to be curved on all four sides and that’s how it’s also rumored to be for the Galaxy S8, but Samsung Display hasn’t made the panel public yet, and it’s unlikely that the company will let a competitor introduce it in the market before it.
This is why you should take rumors about this unnamed device with a healthy dose of salt for now. No concrete evidence has surfaced yet to suggest that Huawei really is working on such a device and the company itself hasn’t said anything about it.
However, it certainly won’t be surprising if Huawei does come out with on, considering the fact that it wants to dethrone Apple in about two years, it’s going to have to effectively capture consumer interest in order to achieve that goal.
