surface-phoneRecently Microsoft’s CEO Satya Nadella admitted that when it came to mobile, Microsoft might have missed the boat. However that doesn’t mean that they have given up. We have long been hearing rumors that Microsoft could have a Surface Phone in the works, and a recent tweet by famed leakster Evan Blass has gotten everyone excited.

In his tweet, Blass posted a series of images followed by a caption that reads, “Powered by a laptop-class Intel processor, would this have blown your mind?” Now Blass has been known to be pretty accurate as far as leaks and rumors are concerned, but his caption has us wondering if he is simply getting an opinion, or if he is teasing that there could be more to these images than we think.

In a follow up tweet, Blass responds to The Verge’s Tom Warren (who also has pretty good insider information) who claims that the images are a concept and nothing more, to which he says, “Much more than just a concept. Stay tuned.” Now it is possible that the images itself are a concept, but the existence of the Surface Phone is more than that.

In any case we guess we have to admit that the renderings do look a bit too “clean” to be real, but it does sound like the project could be coming along nicely. Last we heard, the phone could be arriving in the fall of 2017, so it looks like we still have some waiting to do. Until then take it with a grain of salt.
