airpodApple’s new wireless headphones, the AirPods, which are supposed to be the company’s answer to removing the headphone jack on the new iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, has been hit with a delay. This was initially reported back in October, but unfortunately Apple did not provide a new timeframe.

This has led to all kinds of speculation, such as that it could launch in 2017, or that it could even launch tomorrow. We also heard that December is a possibility, and now a new report seems to corroborate that. According to the latest report, this is based on Czech Republic retailer Alza.cz who seems to think that the AirPods could begin shipping in December in time for the Christmas holidays.

Of course we’re not sure why they think that might be it, but it is easy to understand why. Christmas is a particularly lucrative season for retailers as many people do tend to make their purchases during the holiday season, whether it be a gift to themselves or to their loved ones. For Apple to skip the holiday shopping season would be quite silly, so it would make sense that Apple would have the headphones ready by then.

Unfortunately we have no idea at the moment as to why the headphones are even delayed to begin with. Some have suggested that manufacturing problems could be a reason, but until Apple says otherwise, maybe you should take this with a grain of salt for now.
